- YASAKA news – MATTIAS KARLSSON wins again

The Yasaka player Mattias Karlsson continues to play well after coming back from the injury problems in beginning of 2018. After Mattias´ good tournament Qatar Open he now played German Open in Bremen last weekend. A big part of the highest ranked players take part in German Open.
In the group games Mattias won both his matches. In the preliminary rounds he beat Can Akkuzu, France (4-1) and then his Swedish compatriot Jon Persson also with 4-1.
Late Friday evening Mattias played in the main tournament against no. 15 in the World, Hugo Calderano from Brazil. After a hard match Mattias was the winner with 4-2.
Early Saturday afternoon Mattias eyed Japan’s Koki Niva in the round best of 16. Mattias played very steady and clever, and beat the World ranked no. 7 Koki Niva with 4-1. Several points for Mattias came after his very powerful forehand attacks, probably among the hardest strokes in the table tennis World.
In the quarterfinal Mattias faced the World ranked no. 6, Wong Chun Ting. Mattias had his chances with setpoints in both first and second game but didn´t manage to win either of them. Final result was 4-1 in favour for Wong Chun Ting.
Already since his cadet age Mattias plays with Yasaka equipment.
Mattias is using the rubbers Rakza X (bh) and Rakza PO (fh) and Ma Lin Soft Carbon blade.
